Kendall has started getting more interested in her books, and not just for chewing on or pinching Mommy’s fingers in–this morning, she wanted to read even before school! In case you ever wondered what Brian looks like when you call him, here he is enjoying a phone call around dinnertime. 🙂 At Kendall’s bedtime, it was all about a basketball again–she wouldn’t let it go, sleepy as she was! Finally, at Brian’s bedtime, we continued working on his phonics books, and wouldn’t you know it–he discovered that he really could read one of these all by himself! Go Brian!! Sometimes he doesn’t really want to work on reading before bedtime, and I get it.. He’s tired, and it’s mentally taxing work! But he was so close, so I encouraged him by offering to make a video of him reading it once he could do it by himself, and that’s all it took! He read the whole book with a smile. Twice! 🙂 Promise I’ll start posting videos once I can figure out how to get them small enough to work with the tools I have.
