For Mother’s Day, Brandon and the kids made sure I had a lovely day! They woke me up to my first gift of blueberry pancakes and maple syrup. Brian helped get breakfast ready. Kendall was wearing her “Good Morning Mommy” PJs. Later, the kids helped Brandon refresh the sandbox by replacing all the old sand with fresh play sand. Moving all that sand was heavy, as Brian showed us to great dramatic effect! We enjoyed the new sand as well as some chalk drawing time. For dinner, we went to a nice Italian place downtown called Gravy (referring to their signature marinara, of course). We all enjoyed our food greatly, and the giant meatballs were quite a hit with the kids. When she got too wiggly, we distracted Kendall by making her into a baby babushka with the red napkins. She thought this was pretty funny, as did Brian! The waitress seemed quite taken with Brian, and kept stopping to chat with him. At one point she asked him what he thought about something, and he replied, “I think you need to go do your job.” We were all shocked (and pretty amused!) by the apparent attitude and rudeness of his comment! We had a little talk about remembering our restaurant manners, but it seemed Brian didn’t mean any harm by it. We all had a big laugh about it with the staff.

Lovely day, lovely pics! I think the napkin baby babushka is so sweet and I literally laughed out loud at Brian’s comments to the waitress! What a smart boy! She probably DID need to get on with her work! He’ll make a great CEO someday! 😀
Lovely Mother’s Day. Your backyard is so beautiful in May – so green. We don’t have so much “green” here in Colorado.
