Fly-Up Day!

Today was Brian’s third and final Fly-Up Day at his Root Preschool class!  After being transformed to a Big Kid and then a Super Big Kid in previous years, finally, Ms. Sarah Catherine used her magic wand to transform Brian into a Kindergartener!  I’ve got video of the big moment below, and a scan of Brian’s certificate. 🙂  Brian was feeling quite silly and excited, probably overwhelmed by the momentous occasion (or perhaps the the thought of Oreos awaiting him!)  We enjoyed the slideshow of photos from throughout the year, as always, and more than ever, my heart was just bursting with pride.  I was completely verklempt, thinking about how much progress Brian has made!  He’s so ready for kindergarten. 🙂

(Other random photos of the day:  Kendall being cute and looking ready for summer this morning at breakfast!  And, my team’s unofficial mascot at work–a cardboard Princess Leia standup that’s been with the team longer than any of the current members.  She’s gone unnoticed by everyone outside of our team, for perhaps as many as 14 years, according to some estimates.  After taking up residence at Red Hat Tower this week, a C-level executive became offended by her outfit and insisted she wear the t-shirt.  This censorship, predictably, offended pretty much everyone else.  She’s become quite the topic of conversation, and lots of folks are coming around our area to see if the legend of T-Shirt Leia is true.  So, I took a photo of her so I could remember this bit of ridiculous office drama down the road.  Yes, we actually do work. 😉  Most of the time!)
