Visiting Grandpa!

We started off our Father’s Day weekend with a lovely blueberry pancake breakfast, a la Brandon.  He made some shaped ones for the kids–cars, planes, and even their first letter.  What an awesome Dad he is. 🙂  Brian was back at skating lessons this afternoon while I hung out with Kendall.  Brian forgot to bring his jacket, but luckily, was able to get a cool sweater there!  Kendall managed to snag Brian’s “Nyan Cat” plush and just loved playing the music!  When Brian returned, he saw that a box had been delivered–it was a part of my Mother’s Day gift that had been backordered.  I had no idea these awesome baking pans were coming, so it was a nice surprise!  After that, we enjoyed the nice weather, playing frisbee in the back yard.  The kids also had a bit of sandbox time.  Next, we paid a visit to Grandpa Steve to give him an early Father’s Day present, and to have dinner with him and Grandma Sue!  Brian was pretty excited to help Grandpa enjoy the fruit in the Edible Arrangement, and he particularly liked the watermelon balls.  Brian told us he wanted to go outside to see something, and we let him, watching from the windows.  We laughed to see him head out onto the patio and lie down on the reclining comfy chair!  Of course he hammed it up once he saw that we were watching him!  Later, he wanted to go back outside and play with the water hose.  Grandpa and Grandma were very cool to let this happen.  🙂  Brandon accompanied him to supervise, but..  (I bet you can see where this is going..)  If you give a Brian a water hose, he’ll probably want to squirt you with it! 😉  Brandon got chased around outside for a bit, while Kendall and the rest of us laughed from the windows!  Oh, it was hilarious.  Around bedtime, we got to read Brian’s new Angry Birds Star Wars book, which was very exciting for him..  After stories, Brian decided to hold onto the plush alligator that Grandpa Steve had bought him when he was a brand new baby.  Usually it’s all about Tiger when it’s lights out!  I asked Brian, “What’s your alligator’s name?”  He hasn’t been real big on naming his animals, so I didn’t really expect much besides “alligator”.  He looked at me and said without hesitation, “Jason.  This is Jason the Alligator.”  This surprised me so much, I couldn’t hold back the giggles!  So, Jason the Alligator it is. 🙂

Brian, Jason is a good name for your alligator. We played the videos – nice to hear Kendall and Brian’s voices.
