Today was a fun-filled summer Saturday! Brian greeted Kendall in her crib with an impromptu lightsaber battle (what a way to start your day!) After breakfast the kids played with Legos, enjoying the mega-house a little more. Kendall seemed intent on destruction, though, and rather than letting his creation get destroyed by Kendall-zilla, Brian decided to take matters into his own hands. He destroyed his mega-house in a spectacular crash! We’d seen some videos of play ideas for Duplos, one of which showed some pretty awesome-looking car ramps. With the mega-house out of the way, we decided to make a car ramp of our own. We worked through some engineering challenges, and ended up with a pretty sweet racing ramp! Later, Brian went to skating lessons, while Kendall napped and I caught up on some work around the house. When the boys returned, Kendall and I went downstairs to find them putting up a tent in the back yard! Brian had been asking about tents and camping, so, Brandon decided to bring out his boyhood tent to see if it was in usable condition. We were really pleased to find out that it’s still in excellent condition! Brandon and Brian put the tent up, and Kendall was pretty interested in watching that process. As soon as it was ready, the kids ran right in and started running around! The six-person tent is quite roomy, and we had a great time playing there until it got too hot in the afternoon sun! Later, our friend Jennie came by for dinner, and we had a great evening together.

Maureen used to mess up Kelly’s toys and he would be so annoyed. Sounds like Brian is patient with Kendall. Nice Lego creation. We like your tent.
