Pumpkin Patch!

Today was just packed!  It started off bright and early with Brian and I attending a Lego Kids’ Club meeting–the theme was Lego Star Wars, and the project was a build an escape vehicle for Jabba the Hutt!  The kids all got a Jabba t-shirt and minifigure (being Jabba, he’s not so mini!)  This was pretty exciting for everyone, and Brian started singing a Jabba the Hutt song–the other kids took up the chant, and it was so funny!  Next up, a trip out to Hill Ridge Farms for pumpkin patch fun with Brian’s best buddy Ty!  The boys were overflowing with energy, and had a blast running all over the farm.  We hit all the major attractions, including the fort, the mazes, the train ride, the hay ride, playground, giant sandbox, and of course pumpkin picking!  We were all so exhausted afterward, and even though we’d planned on Brian making his skating lesson, we stayed a bit too long and I doubt he was up for it anyway, so we skipped it.  After some sugary beverages from Sonic, we were all perked up a bit, and the boys begged to play longer at our place.  Ty’s mom and brother were home sick, and they didn’t mind the extra time, so we said okay.  The boys played and had pumpkin cookies as Kendall napped.  All was going well until Brian had a fall after a rather exuberant slam dunk while playing basketball.  He hurt his arm and was quite distraught–it didn’t appear to be broken, but Brandon suspects a bone bruise.  We’ll watch him closely and take him in if continues to bother him.  Luckily we have a favorite orthopaedic practice, just down the road. 🙂   I took Ty home, and enjoyed a girls’ night out for Korean BBQ with Su and Jennie!
