Santa Train, More Gingerbread
Today we made more gingerbread cookies! I’d picked up some Star Wars gingerbread cookie cutters, so we just had to make some of those, plus some more gingerbread boys (and girls! how did we forget the girls during the last round?) 😉 Plus, we had the wrong kind of molasses last time around, so they were a little extra tangy and the color was off (Brandon now knows, blackstrap molasses are for vegan health nuts, you gotta have Grandma’s for baking!) Today, Nana Rosemary came to our house for a fun-filled day of holiday baking! Kendall was home from school today, so we were able to have three generations of “the girls” (as Kendall started calling us) all working together. The kids each got a cake to decorate from Nana, and they went to town on them, just covering them with icing, sugar, sprinkles, and even adding some graham crackers to make doors and windows so they could be like gingerbread houses. We were towards the back of the parade, and during the lineup we were directly in front of Santa Claus. The kids got to meet him, which was a pretty special treat. Stormy came by as well, also a pretty special treat. Ms. Robin, and Mr. Malay and Mrs. Vineeta were on hand and also helped to keep the kids happy....

Merry Christmas! The kids certainly had a most excellent day. They remembered out instructions and came downstairs together with us (Brian taking the lead!) He immediately noticed the Mameshiba display I’d set up for them with their plushies, and started singing the Mameshiba Christmas song. Next they found their new kitchen! That was a pretty big hit with both. 🙂 I insisted that we have breakfast before doing much more with presents, and we enjoyed some hot cocoa with our new...
