The KinderGarden Groundbreaking
Today was a special day at Brian’s school! The official groundbreaking ceremony of the new KinderGarden, a new five-senses garden that will be planted outside the Kindergarten/First Grade wing at Root Elementary. The students performed a cute poem called “A Little Brown Seed” and also sang “What A Wonderful World.” Brian had been practicing it all week! We made sure he knew both the Louis Armstrong and the Joey Ramone versions of the song. 😉 After the...

We missed Brian’s second STEM night due to some severe weather.. He was pretty broken up about it, but we didn’t want to take the risk when there were such strong storms and tornado warnings. He’d worked very hard on a project, so this morning we both went into his classroom to see it! Brian and his partner built this dragonfly and labeled its parts. Today we celebrated Star Wars day in a couple different ways! Nana Rosemary watched the kids for a little bit and let us sneak away for a nice lunch together at Firebirds Rocky Mountain Grill. She took the kids to one of their favorite places for lunch, Subway! I think we got the better deal, particularly considering their signature Double Black Diamond martini (not as crazy as it sounds, but definitely a winner for pineapple fans!) but Brian was clearly elated to go to Subway. 🙂 Later, we...

Today was a busy one! The kids started off their morning with some marker art time. Then, Kendall was off to a birthday party at My Gym for her classmate Nicklai. Brandon and Kendall had a great time there, and Kendall took to all the activities really well! Brandon said she outclassed all those other kids. 😉 This afternoon, we had some Lego time, and the kids made an awesome structure. Then, we all went to the ‘Canes Alumni Game. That’s a fun red-vs-white game, where some...
