Colorado Trip! Day 4
Time to take the kids to the zoo where they belong! Wait, we’re just visiting the zoo? Oh, okay, that’s cool too 🙂 It has been nearly four years since we visited the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Today, we made our return with Kendall on the outside! Each time I return, I’m amazed how much it has improved since I was a kid in Colorado. They have reduced the quantity of animals, but have really increased the quality of the enclosures. The elephant exhibit is really amazing, and this...

Another beautiful Colorado day! Today’s adventures started with quick lunch/brunch in Manitou Springs. Then we were off to the United States Air Force Academy to tour the grounds. I intended on showing Kendall and Brian my old Elementary school where I went to first grade. The food was really good and we were able to eat outside on the patio, which is always fun. It’s an interesting place that sells both Italian and Mexican cuisine! After the quick...

After an extra-long day getting here, we made it to our first full day in Colorado! Our “altitude adjustment day” consisted of a few small trips in and around Colorado Springs. We spent a lot of time in Grandpa Roger and Grandma Cheryl’s big back yard. Some time was seeing the chickens, some time was spent playing games (typically Uno), and some time eating! Inside, we spent time solving puzzles and playing with cats. Our first outing was to the Starsmore Visitor and Nature...

Another big day for the Perkins family. It started out with Brandon taking Kendall to swimming lessons, which are coming along great! And Alison taking Brian to LEGO Club where he made a conveyance system for a koala! After a bit of downtime, the whole family was off to the IcePlex for Brian’s final game of his first season of House League Mite Hockey. We are so proud of everything he accomplished to learn to skate, learn to play, and to be out the gate as a high-quality goaltender! All...
