Hockey Trophy

Another big day for the Perkins family. It started out with Brandon taking Kendall to swimming lessons, which are coming along great! And Alison taking Brian to LEGO Club where he made a conveyance system for a koala!

After a bit of downtime, the whole family was off to the IcePlex for Brian’s final game of his first season of House League Mite Hockey. We are so proud of everything he accomplished to learn to skate, learn to play, and to be out the gate as a high-quality goaltender! All the kids got a trophy, but they were all so happy to get one. We got team group photos and individual photos of Brian on and off the ice. Another special item to report is that Brian’s 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Hounwanou, came with her husband to watch Brian play. That was awesome, especially because Brian didn’t get too distracted. Nana Rosemary and Pake Sytse were also able to attend so that Brian had a big cheering section. At the end of the game, we let Kendall put on her skates and try to get her ice-legs under her. She will definitely need some proper lessons once she has swimming under her belt!

When the on-ice ceremonies and photos were done, we had an end-of-season party behind the IcePlex with burgers, dogs, chips, and all sorts of treats. Kids young and old had a great time hanging out and chatting hockey and other topics.
