Red Hat Dinner

Red Hat’s own Hat Rack Cafe now has a dinner-to-go offering, so we’re trying that out for quick Tuesday night dinners.  (Why Tuesday?  It’s the night before our Produce Box deliveries, so theoretically, we should be lowest on produce then).  Tonight we were happily surprised that the dinner was a Japanese Udon soup with chicken and vegetables.  Yummy!  I love the thick noodles, and the kids had fun playing with them (and they ate them, too).  Also, I made another slice of...

Boosterthon 2015!!

Today was the Boosterthon at Root, which had to be moved indoors at the last moment due to rain.  I thought he staff did a good job of adapting the gym and the schedule, so that the kids could still have their fun run. Crystal Mining

Today I let Brian work on his Crystal Mining set–basically, three interesting rocks in a brick of plaster of paris, where the objective is to slowly saw them out with a plastic knife.  Talk about busy work!  But, the kids found it fun and exciting, to see what will get uncovered.  While putting some things away while the kids were otherwise occupied, I suddenly remembered the silver bowl that we’d bought in India, and the two tiny silver spoons we’d bought at the same time,...
