Tuesday
I’m not feeling so great, so, we had Char-Grill for dinner, and let the kids have a picnic on the first floor! They were pretty happy about that. Both of them enjoyed wearing hockey gear and playing some before dinner! Brian made a catapult with a spoon, tape, post-it, and sharpie. Very creative, but, attached to the desk, really?! Sheesh....

Today is Kendall’s third birthday! We had her party at home, and decorated the house up with Flower Fairies-themed decorations. Her famous Buttercup Fairy costume from Halloween is one of the Mary Cicely Barker creations that I liked so much when I was a little girl. I’m so glad Kendall likes them, too! We let her wear the costume for her party, since it’s thematic. 😉 We had a beautiful cake from the Cupcake Shoppe again, hand-painted by our favorite designer, featuring...

Today we had an opportunity to be in the Raleigh Christmas parade, riding on the Goddard School float! It was a cold one, and we bundled up as best we could, wearing lots of layers. Stormy came by as well, also a pretty special treat. Ms. Robin, and Mr. Malay and Mrs. Vineeta were on hand and also helped to keep the kids happy....

Tonight was Brian’s fall semester book fair! It had a cool knights-and-dragons theme. We picked up everything on his list, plus a few things for Kendall as well. He liked the big standup sign advertising the new Star Wars Rebels series. Not a lot of photos, since I was carrying all of his stuff! Today all the geeky-Internet-buzz was about a Barbie children’s book, where supposedly Barbie was a computer engineer–but she was portrayed as thoroughly incompetent, needing the...
Read MoreRen Faire!
Today, we went to the Ren Faire! It was bitterly cold, and I’m having some complications from my supposedly-zero-downtime surgery, which put a damper on things (for me, anyway). They had a display out front of a Delorean and hover board, like from the Back To The Future movies (we had to explain those to the kids). We were able to see some of our favorite shows, and some new ones. We ate some of our favorite snacks, shivering in the cold. Brandon’s friend Miguel stopped by,...
