Mother’s Day School Events
Both of the kids’ schools had events to celebrate Mother’s Day today! I’m not always able to make it to daytime events, but this year, I was able to! Brian’s class invited us moms to come by in the morning to receive our special gifts–a clay pendant, and a beautiful artwork of flowers in a vase! Today was a pretty wacky day for a Tuesday–we started out taking the kids to the dentist. (No cavities–yay!) Afterward, we took Kendall to school, and we let Brian accompany us to vote before dropping him off at school. We think it’s important to show him examples of us doing our civil duty! Today we didn’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo in any sort of traditional way–instead, we kept the Star Wars fun going and let Brian start building his Republic Gunship! We were surprised to find that it came with nine bags of parts and two instruction books–this is going to be a whopper of a build! Not to be outdone, Kendall decided to put on Brian’s play hockey gear and run circles around Brian’s building area....

Today we celebrated Star Wars day in a couple different ways! Nana Rosemary watched the kids for a little bit and let us sneak away for a nice lunch together at Firebirds Rocky Mountain Grill. She took the kids to one of their favorite places for lunch, Subway!
