Roger’s Visit! Day 2
We felt like getting out today, so packed everyone up and headed to Durham’s Life+Science Museum. Kendall and Brian used the new Hello Kitty carseat blankets I made last night! The kids are pretty familiar with the museum at this point, and they had a great time showing Grandpa all of their favorite exhibits. The museum changes things up pretty regularly, so there were some new surprises in addition to some favorites. Brian still loves the boats, and Kendall still loves the...

Grandpa Roger arrived late last night, after the kids were already in bed, so the kids were excited to wake up this morning to see him! We all made good use of the new coffeemaker, with Brandon telling Roger our tale of woe about the old one. Roger volunteered to take a look at the old one, and within minutes, had it going again! The kids enjoyed having the morning at home, without having to rush off to school–getting to play Duplos in your pajamas is always special! After awhile, we did need to get them ready for the day, and I put them back in their Christmas tees (slightly better luck on a...

Today Brian is out of school for Christmas break, but Kendall still has school available–so we decided to do something special for Brian and let him have his best buddy Ty come over for a cookie-baking playdate! Not gonna lie, this is one of those sorts of holiday activities that I’ve always wanted to try, and have had idyllic fantasies about–but as a somewhat experienced mom at this point, I knew going into it that it would not exactly be the calm, clean, relaxing with...
