New Job!
As you might know, I haven’t exactly been loving my job.. I really want to stay with Red Hat, and I liked the work, but I felt like I was going to have to make a change. An opening turned up on the Information Security team a few weeks ago, and, although I wasn’t sure I’d qualify, I applied. Last year there was a similar opening, and I’d mentioned to my director that I had interest in that area, but I knew I didn’t have the experience to apply for the...

There was a book fair at Goddard School this week! Of course the kids were excited and we just had to pick up some more books for them. 🙂 The school staff were so nice and let us stay well past closing so the kids could have time to choose their...
Read MoreSky Shark, Dentist
Kendall was playing with my Mother’s Day balloons this morning, and her prized Sky Shark plane as well. She is so proud of that little pull-back plane! Not sure if it’s because Brian gave it to her, or because it’s from the air show, or just because it’s cute and fun to say “sky shark”–but she loves it. She especially loves how the propeller turns when the plane moves forward! Both kids had their dentist appointment this morning, and enjoyed a...

Today the whole family packed-up for a trip to the Wings Over Wayne air show in Goldsboro. It is held at Seymour Johnson AFB in alternating years with the MCAS Cherry Point air show in Havelock. Brian is still definitely into planes, and I think Kendall is starting to get into it as well. She was a real trooper getting over her rash post-antibiotics. Getting to the flight-line wasn’t bad with the shuttle-bus. But, after the Thunderbirds performed, there was such a rush to leave that it...
Read MoreStar Wars Day at the Ballpark
It’s Star Wars Day with the Durham Bulls, so of course we had to be there! This year’s jerseys were C-3PO themed (I have to admit, I liked the R2-D2 ones from last year a lot more.) We all wore our own Star Wars t-shirts to celebrate. The game was pretty fun, but I think the kids were more excited about the sno-cones and Star Wars gimmicks....

Today was the annual Fun In The Sun event at Brian’s school. Brandon and I volunteered as before, and ran a little hockey game in one corner of the playground. Everyone kept wanting to be the goalie, especially Brian, but since there were no pads or helmets, Brandon insisted it was only shooting practice. Brian got a sno-cone and had a picnic lunch with us, and then it was back to work for us. Tonight there was a Parent Night Out event at Goddard, so Brian got to enjoy a pizza party...
