Ladies’ Lunch/Hockey Clinic
Sue and I went out to lunch with Mary Conroy today at Vivace. Mary is one of those wonderful kind souls, a dear friend of Sue’s who I’ve come to love and appreciate so much. She stayed with me overnight at Sue’s house, when I was looking after my dad in his last few days, and Sue had to spend the night away at the hospital herself. She brought us delicious food more times than I can count, and was just wonderful with the kids. I was happy to see her again today, and after...

Goddard School had a science fair this evening! We enjoyed some snacks and then visited each classroom to see what they had made. The kids loved the Creamy Coconut Play-Doh and the slime in Kendall’s class the best! Kendall wanted to wash her hands pretty soon after playing with the slime....

Kendall’s class did a bead-stringing activity today, and boy, was she sure proud of her “neck-a-lace”! (That’s how she pronounces it.) 😉 We randomly decided to go to Chili’s tonight for dinner, since we were tired, and Brian loves it. I’m liking it less and less these days, since the quality is dropping like a rock–besides the tableside guacamole and the most expensive Margarita on the menu, everything seems just one click above a microwavable Lean...
Read MoreKendall’s Radio
Kendall loves this toy radio, just like Brian did when it was his..! I suppose it’s more of a baby toy, but, she still loves it. It’s amusing to me, too, since it has a few different “genres” of music on it. I like to imagine what artist they were copying when they made each song for the toy. 😉 Today I saw that she had discovered that the antenna raises and lowers–none of us had figured that out before! Brian spun it around plenty when he was a baby, but,...

I woke up to the sound of the kids playing loudly–I found them with the iPad and Angry Birds in Brian’s room. Hmm. I prefer a more gentle reintroduction to the world, but, okay. I got them to at least go downstairs and play with Duplos. Included is a video of them rocking out to Queen’s “I Want It All” in the van. Brian does this every-few-words shouting thing (don’t ask, I don’t get it either). Kendall does her epic Stevie Nicks hippie-hands...

Things are winding down post-funeral, and both kids had activities today, so we fit those in, to give the kids a bit of normalcy. Lego club for Brian, brunch and silliness and goodbyes to our cousins over at Sue’s, and a party for Kendall. Brandon and I had an appointment in the afternoon, so the kids stayed over at Sue’s while we went there. Brandon and I went by the graveside to see how things are. After some sun, the grounds were looking beautiful again, and the flowers...
