Red Hat Dinner

Red Hat’s own Hat Rack Cafe now has a dinner-to-go offering, so we’re trying that out for quick Tuesday night dinners.  (Why Tuesday?  It’s the night before our Produce Box deliveries, so theoretically, we should be lowest on produce then).  Tonight we were happily surprised that the dinner was a Japanese Udon soup with chicken and vegetables.  Yummy!  I love the thick noodles, and the kids had fun playing with them (and they ate them, too).  Also, I made another slice of...

Boosterthon 2015!!

Today was the Boosterthon at Root, which had to be moved indoors at the last moment due to rain.  I thought he staff did a good job of adapting the gym and the schedule, so that the kids could still have their fun run. They split up the the grades by gender so there weren’t too many kids out at once.  Brian managed to run 42 laps (more than the max of 35, but that’s because he was having fun and just kept on going!)  I couldn’t help but laugh as he worked some dance moves...

Logan’s Birthday Party

Today we got to celebrate Logan’s 6th Birthday with a party at Chuck E. Cheese’s. Certainly not a favorite of the parents, but you can’t help but acknowledge that the kids have a blast there! Logan had an “Avengers Assemble” theme. We also got to see Mike’s parents who traveled down for a visit and the party. I enjoyed talking with them while monitoring what Brian was up to. I am kind of proud about the fact that Brian digs the physical activity games more...

Saturday Hockey

Another busy Saturday started out with the Lowe’s Build and Grow See-It-Grow Clinic. Brian built a planter with a plexi-glass side to watch roots growing in the soil! Later, in the afternoon, Brian had a house league clinic at the IcePlex where he did as good as ever. Kendall went to town, er, restaurant with her play food. She also took to working with a lot of Play-Doh food and princesses. For a little down-time, Kendall wanted to read one of Brian’s favorite books,...
