Decorative Gourd Season
It’s decorative gourd season, y’all! We don’t do things halfway around here, so we have gobs of gourds, and piles of pumpkins. Kendall was looking festive in her Hello Kitty Halloween outfit! Brian had a teacher workday today, and he did some artful decoration with the gourds on the stairs, and had a happy-face hot dog & mac and cheese lunch, thanks to Brandon! We made our Darth Vader and Kitty pumpkins, surprising Kendall with them when she got home. I started the...

It’s my birthday, and Steve and Sue took us all out for dinner at Kanki, as has become our tradition. The kids were super happy to get paper umbrellas in their drinks, and were generally well-behaved, but kept us pretty busy nonetheless. Kendall really liked her soup this time. One of the other families at our table included one of our well-known helpers from the Lego Store, and Brandon had a good time chatting with him and getting the scoop on some Lego things from an...

Today was our family picture day, which is always sort of stressful. 😉 We’re hoping something will turn out well enough for a Christmas card, especially since we found out when reviewing the shots that Kendall made weird faces in every single picture except the first! The kids were pretty crazy, especially Kendall. Not even the gigantic Olaf could amuse her enough to smile while standing still! While I picked out shots to purchase, Brandon and the kids went ahead to...

Today sure was a busy one! The kids were playing bright and early with their playsilk dress-ups, Duplos, and the toy animal hospital, which Kendall has been rather interested in lately. We went out and did a little shopping today to get outfits for everyone to wear for our family photo, which was a rather harrowing experience for us parents, but I think the kids actually had some fun. We realized it was probably our best chance to go and get a pumpkin, so we headed over to Farmer’s...

I wasn’t feeling so good today (sinus infection, must be Friday) so Brandon took Kendall along for Brian’s hockey practice. She was excited to be at the IcePlex, but probably pretty jealous to not be on the ice herself! I sent her a picture of her Twilight Sparkle pony who arrived today. 😉 The kids came home and were excited to get their new playsilks, which they combined with their viking helmets and toy swords to great effect. The kids were so spun up, they ended up having...
