Root Spirit Week
It’s spirit week at Root, and while we aren’t equipped to do all of the activities, the “wear all red” day was a possibility! Brian came down the stairs like this, and while we had to applaud his creativity, we did have to modify the outfit a bit! 😉 Goddard is doing another family wall thing, this time with pumpkins. Today, Brian really wanted to take his “Rooty” to school–his prize from the fair really does look like his school mascot! We got dinner out tonight, at Dos Taquitos–always a treat! Brian decorated his cup to the nines, and was quite proud of it. He made a snail out of bread crust–he tells us we are not allowed to throw it out.. Today we were off to the State Fair! This year we went on Brandon’s birthday, like we went on my birthday last year. As we usually do, we met up with the Orazi family early, and went to get biscuits for breakfast. The fair is usually not so crowded early in the morning, but this year, we could tell it was going to be a record-breaker–it was pretty crowded to start with! Another month, another LEGO Club meeting! However, this is the last one of the year as they take a break in November and December. So, we had to make this a good one, and Brian certainly did. The theme revolved around creating a rescue craft. He basically did two full designs and the creativity kept coming at home. We also saw some great Halloween and Thanksgiving mini-sets that we had to get. Brian finished off by building a racer to go down the ramp track at the front of the store....

Tonight was Rootin’ Tootin’, but it was also a Parent Night Out.. We were conflicted about what to do, but, eventually came down on the side of letting Kendall have her pizza party with her friends, Brandon would take Brian to hockey/skating lessons and then a little time at Rootin’ Tootin’, and I would just have the evening to myself to rest.
