Christmas Day!
Merry Christmas! The kids certainly had a most excellent day. They remembered out instructions and came downstairs together with us (Brian taking the lead!) He immediately noticed the Mameshiba display I’d set up for them with their plushies, and started singing the Mameshiba Christmas song. Next they found their new kitchen! That was a pretty big hit with both. 🙂 I insisted that we have breakfast before doing much more with presents, and we enjoyed some hot cocoa with our new...

Today I woke up to two adorable children reading together! Brian was sharing some books with Kendall (or maybe she commandeered them!) and he was doing his very best to read them to her, filling in the gaps from memory. The kids enjoyed having the morning at home, without having to rush off to school–getting to play Duplos in your pajamas is always special! Today Brian is out of school for Christmas break, but Kendall still has school available–so we decided to do something special for Brian and let him have his best buddy Ty come over for a cookie-baking playdate! Today was surprisingly warm–it’s almost like the kids knew it would be so, starting off the day playing with Brian’s sunglasses from the Hurricanes Kids Club! During Kendall’s nap, Brian (still in his pajamas) built two holiday-themed Lowes Build and Grow kits–this year’s candy cane train, and the gingerbread house that I’d bought him last year. He said he was making them for Kendall–what a sweet big brother! We hung Brian’s handmade...

This morning, Brian finally got his long-awaited haircut! I got to stay home and play with Kendall. She was such a cutie, really getting into playing with her wooden Christmas cookies! When the boys were back, we got ready to go see Granny Jo (Great-Granny for the kids!) Kendall was cute in her velvet dress with holly embroidery! She managed to sneak in a little block time before we needed to leave. Brian wasn’t feeling wearing anything festive, so Jabba the Hut it was. 😉 We...
