Beach Trip! Tuesday
It was our last day at the beach, and we were all feeling a little down to be heading back to real life.. But, we made the most of the time we had. The kids enjoyed some time on the porch after breakfast. Brian was pretty absorbed in the iPad, as Kendall fully enjoyed the porch swing. I thought, hm, there’s a lesson for us grownups that tend to get absorbed in our devices here.. 😉 I will work on being more present. Brandon and I worked on packing up, while Brian made a blanket fort...

It’s time once again for one of Brian’s photo essays! Brian took these pictures in Morehead City, after our big seafood dinner with Steve and Sue. He wanted us to pull over to see the giant crab, and then we strolled around the visitor center for awhile. Brian notices objects and angles that we’d otherwise just walk right past. It’s cool to see how the world looks from four feet high....

You’d think the kids would sleep really well after such an exciting day yesterday.. But, as luck would have it, they were both up and wide awake at 6am–ouch! Brandon and I were zombies as the kids played as the sun came up, but lots of coffee and breakfast helped. 🙂 After breakfast, we saw that the tide had gone out, and Brian went on an impromptu nature walk with Grandma Sue. He carried his new net and explored the tidepools still in his pajamas, while Grandma taught him about...

Today was a truly epic adventure! We decided to take a ride on Grandpa Steve’s boat over to Cape Lookout. Brian got to visit the marina to retrieve the boat, and then we got everyone suited up and ready to go. It took just over an hour to make the trip. Kendall slept in my arms most of the way, I think the waves, engine noise, and restriction of the life jacket just put her right out. Brian was a little apprehensive at first, but quickly decided this was a super fun adventure! I...

Today was a super busy one! We started off bright and early at Brian’s reading class. Brian is so enthusiastic about participating and he really enjoys all the books! Next up, building fun at another Lowe’s Build and Grow session. Brian made a cool Toy Story themed race car. Then, it was time to put the finishing touches on getting everyone packed up for our beach trip! We went to Brian’s skating lessons on the way out of town. Kendall was happy to see Brian on the ice,...

These children are cranked up to 11 this evening! Playing and singing with the cat piano, having lightsaber duels, anything and everything to avoid bedtime! We did our best to corral them into their rooms and respective beds, but, at a certain point, you just have to step back and laugh at the moment. 🙂 Also: cute Kendall throughout the day: breakfast, after nap, dinner,...
