Crystal Mining
Today I let Brian work on his Crystal Mining set–basically, three interesting rocks in a brick of plaster of paris, where the objective is to slowly saw them out with a plastic knife. Talk about busy work! But, the kids found it fun and exciting, to see what will get uncovered. I was home with Kendall today, since Goddard had a teacher workday. We played at home, doing puzzles, watching My Little Pony.. I tried to work some of the day, but we did sneak out at lunchtime to go to the mall. Today was the Dino Egg Hunt at the Museum of Life + Science in Durham! On the way in, we were happy to run into Brian’s pal from his Goddard days, Julian. What a nice surprise! The kids played outside for awhile before it was our turn to hunt. The fossil dig area was a hit! Julian is a bit of an expert about dinosaurs, so he told us about some of his favorites.
