Rootin’ Tootin’
Tonight was Rootin’ Tootin’, but it was also a Parent Night Out.. We were conflicted about what to do, but, eventually came down on the side of letting Kendall have her pizza party with her friends, Brandon would take Brian to hockey/skating lessons and then a little time at Rootin’ Tootin’, and I would just have the evening to myself to rest. I’m on the mend, but am not up for very much, so it was probably the best thing for us all. The kids had fun at their...

Today, Kendall and I both wore Princess Leia t-shirts! I think hers is much cuter (it says “Self-Rescuing Princess”)! I should have been making a cake or pie for the Rootin’ Tootin’ bake sale tonight, but, being so sick, I just could not manage it (nor should I risk it!) So, Brandon helped me phone it in, by picking up a very cute pumpkin cake from Whole Foods. The kids were a little disappointed it wasn’t for them, but understood it was for a good...

Well, okay, what I have is a bit worse than that..! I stayed home from work today and tried to rest up. After school, Brian surprised me with a very cute Halloween-themed card, and even attached $40 from his own money! I’m not sure why, but he insisted! What a sweet thing to do, anyway. 🙂 Also included, video of Miss K doing some cool bathtub dancing (?) to the Beastie Boys this morning. ...

Kendall loves the duck feet slippers that Grandma Sue got for Brian a few years ago! They fit her perfectly now, and she loves to wear them. We went out to dinner with Grandma Sue and Grandpa Steve tonight, at P.F. Chang’s. Not all of us were feeling so great, but we pushed through! I’m suffering from a horrible sinus infection that I came home from Las Vegas with, ugh! Good food and family helps cure what ails you, at least I’m telling myself that....

Today I was still horribly sick, but Kendall made sure to entertain me, even when I couldn’t get out of bed. She is so cute! She sang songs along with her puppy friends, and we shared a snack of strawberry Pocky, while watching My Little Pony. My airport present to her was a small plushie Rainbow Dash–even though she hadn’t seen the show before! It was just the cutest thing I saw in the store. (Brian had already asked for an Air Force One model, so that’s what he...
Read MoreHome Time, Home Opener
I made it home, safe and sound (but sick as a dog!) Brandon and the kids picked me up at the airport so early, the kids were still in their PJs. I was happy to see them and have breakfast before they left for school and work. I, on the other hand, spent the whole day in bed with the good cough syrup. Tonight was the Hurricanes’ home opener, and we had all wanted to go, especially since they were giving out free scarves. Brandon had gone to the trouble of getting us tickets, so, I...
