Spring Book Fair
Today was the Spring Book Fair at Root, and of course, we couldn’t miss that! Brian had a list of books he wanted, and found a lot more! Kendall found a pile she wanted as well. We tried to be selective, but we still ended up with a heavy load. Some notable purchases were Lego box sets for each kid, with 3 books and a mini set in each, and a pack of the first 12 Magic Treehouse books. Today, Brian had a playdate with one of his good buddies from Root, Ladd! He was so excited to have Ladd come over for the first time, and a little surprised–Ladd arrived with a brand-new cast on his arm. He’d taken a tumble at school on Friday and it turned out, he’d broken it. We aren’t all that up-to-date on the happenings in the Marvel universe, and we’d never even heard of Electro, the villian featured on this week’s t-shirt. Some random Thursday photos for you.. Kendall arrived to greet me as I was getting ready this morning with the Duck Feet slippers on, and a waffle in her mouth (presumably her duck bill!) She’s so funny. This evening I had some extra wide carrots, and I made some roasted garlic-parmesan veggies with the carrots cut into flowers, Japanese-style. The kids thought that was awesome! If only the American carrot varieties/aesthetic produced much fatter carrots, I could do this more often....

Time to say goodbye to the colored eggs! Easter Monday means it’s egg salad time at our house. 😉 I only make it once a year, and my recipe features quite a bit of crumbled bacon, so it’s a rare treat around here.
