I got my RHCA swag today! A glass plaque, laptop skin, and a shirt, custom-embroidered with my certification number. I’m happy to get these goodies, of course! However I’m a little ambivalent about the shirt. As a woman in technology, it always irks me when companies don’t offer ladies’ shirts. Election Day!

It’s election day!  Yes, a very minor one in the grand scheme of things, but a very important one to us.  There’s a bond referendum for funding renovations and expansions of schools in Wake County, and we know how important that is!  Root was renovated a few years ago, and the faculty are still talking about what a difference it has made for the kids.  We didn’t end up sending Brian to Stough, but we have a lot of love for it, since it is our closest neighborhood school and...

International Festival!

Today we attending Raleigh’s own International Festival!  This is one of my favorite fall events, though with how packed our fall schedule inevitably is, we don’t always make it out.  This year, bringing two mobile children to a packed and noisy convention center presented a new set of challenges.  All in all, though, we had a great time.  We sampled foods from Nepal, Thailand, Japan, Poland, France, India, Vietnam, probably more. 🙂  We watched many different performances, and the...
