Mother’s Day School Events
Both of the kids’ schools had events to celebrate Mother’s Day today! I’m not always able to make it to daytime events, but this year, I was able to! Brian’s class invited us moms to come by in the morning to receive our special gifts–a clay pendant, and a beautiful artwork of flowers in a vase! Brian’s teacher said these were suitable for framing, and I think I will absolutely have to do that. Brian’s picture shows such amazing detail, I can tell...

Today we celebrated Star Wars day in a couple different ways! Nana Rosemary watched the kids for a little bit and let us sneak away for a nice lunch together at Firebirds Rocky Mountain Grill. She took the kids to one of their favorite places for lunch, Subway! I think we got the better deal, particularly considering their signature Double Black Diamond martini (not as crazy as it sounds, but definitely a winner for pineapple fans!) but Brian was clearly elated to go to Subway. 🙂 Later, we...

Some random Thursday photos for you.. Kendall arrived to greet me as I was getting ready this morning with the Duck Feet slippers on, and a waffle in her mouth (presumably her duck bill!) She’s so funny. This evening I had some extra wide carrots, and I made some roasted garlic-parmesan veggies with the carrots cut into flowers, Japanese-style. The kids thought that was awesome! Happy Easter! We sure had an awesome one. We started off the day with the kids getting their Easter baskets and presents, and they were so surprised! We had collected a number of really cool presents for them, including a Lego Star Wars Battle of Hoth game that wasn’t even release in the US. Brian liked his Lego City game so much, and since Empire is one of his favorite Star Wars movies, I knew he just had to have it. Kendall got the Duplo Cinderella Castle that she liked so much...

Some very random Friday photos here! One that Brandon snapped of me at our Parent Night Out at the Korean BBQ place (so delicious!! We always eat too much there.) One of Kendall and Brian starting their hatch-in-water Easter egg pets (those should open up over the weekend and produce a baby chick and a baby bunny–don’t even get me started on why there’s a bunny in one, but no matter! They’re cute and it’s fun for the kids, with the added bonus of teaching a...

Here are some fun “green screen” photos from our trip to the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores! Brian loves the shark-themed ones. 🙂 I’m glad we didn’t take a pass on the photo booth this time! Plus, it was a nice surprise that they offered an “email all the poses”...
