Our third time attending a Fresh Beat Band concert was today. As a reminder, the first time we saw them we travelled to Norfolk, VA to see them. At the time, we had no idea how long they would be doing these concerts or how many locations. It was a huge deal to Brian at the time that we actually went on a weekday to see them.
Later, we saw them the second time when they actually came to Raleigh, to the Red Hat Amphitheatre no less, and we watched the whole thing in a figurative monsoon. Well, they entertained us and the kids so much, we decided to do it again when they returned to Raleigh this Summer. Now, Kendall is much more into them, and Brian is moving into the “too cool for the Fresh Beats” mode. However, you wouldn’t be able to tell any of that from the photos and video below 🙂
Brian knows these songs forwards and backwards and easily gets into the mood and fully engaged. Kendall was exhibiting her typical Kendall self. When in public or a new situation, she has an almost shy or reserved expression. Alison describes it as similar to herself in that she is feeling out the situation and scanning for information. So, more inquisitive than excited. However, by intermission and getting her new Fresh Beat Band girls shirt, she was really into it. We also kept the equality in the universe and got Brian a new Fresh Beat Band boys shirt.
Everyone had a good time, and the weather was millions of times better. Heck, even the band commented on how bad the rain was last time they were in town. If you do that many shows and remember a rain event like that, it must have been bad. The performance was great, and heck, I’d even be up for a fourth time around if the situation presents itself. “We had a great day. It was a super way to spend some time together. We had a great day. The very best day. And nothing could be better!”

Brian really knows all the words and moves to those songs.
