After the blast Brian had last year doing Skate With The Canes, there was no way we were missing it this year! Another great time was had by all. The ever popular inflatables were there for bouncing and shooting pucks. We got a holiday photo with John-Michael Liles, Jiri Tlusty, Ron Hainsey, and Jeff Skinner. I also took the opportunity to gander at possible Christmas presents for the Little Hurricanes Fans. There is also the tour of the locker room and training facilities. Brian even got in the act of taking some photos like dad. While in the locker room, we got a photo with Cam Ward, Victor Rask, Riley Nash, and Nathan Gerbe. Perhaps the pinnacle moment, besides actually skating on the PNC Arena ice, was having a penalty box photo with, the Captain, Eric Staal!
When you’re getting your skates on and off, you do it in the tunnel to the ice resurfacing machines (commonly referred to as Zamboni’s, which is a misnomer in the ‘Canes case as they use Olympia machines) which Brian graciously posed in front of while enjoying a complimentary hot chocolate. On the ice, Brian got autographs from Elias Lindholm, Zach Boychuk, and . Another fun aspect is getting to skate/chase Stormy (the Ice Hog) around the rink!
The autograph session always features the broadcasters. This year we had Chuck Kaiton (radio voice), John Forslund (TV play-by-play), and Tripp Tracy (TV color commentary). As for players, we got to meet with Tim Gleason, Jordan Staal, Anton Khudobin, and Brody Sutter!
Meanwhile, at home, Kendall and mommy were having Disney Princess royalty time with Olaf and Bitty Baby!
