Fly-Up Day!
Today was Brian’s third and final Fly-Up Day at his Root Preschool class! After being transformed to a Big Kid and then a Super Big Kid in previous years, finally, Ms. Sarah Catherine used her magic wand to transform Brian into a Kindergartener! I’ve got video of the big moment below, and a scan of Brian’s certificate. 🙂 Brian was feeling quite silly and excited, probably overwhelmed by the momentous occasion (or perhaps the the thought of Oreos awaiting him!) We enjoyed...
Read MoreBuilding and Skating
It was another busy Saturday, filled with building and skating for Brian! He made a pair of Monsters University “scarers” at Lowes, while I had some time with Kendall at home. Brian was very silly, popping out of the bathroom hoisting the plunger over his head, saying, “I’m the Statue of Delivery!” 🙂 LOL, “liberty”, buddy! Later, he was off to skating lessons while Kendall napped. Then, we all had to run some errands, and the kids got to try some...
Read MoreLightsaber Battle, Part Deux
Sometimes, a lightsaber battle has to continue the next morning.. And even into the car. 😉 The kids are really happy about having two of them now! One way to get her to leave it in is to immediately run into the bathroom to show her what she looks like in the mirror....
Read MoreThe Monkey Song (and Dance!)
One of Brian’s favorite songs on the CD from Grandpa Steve is what he calls the “Monkey Song”. It’s “Jungle Love” by Morris Day and the Time (from 1984), and it starts off with some fun monkey sounds.. But Brian really gets into the whole song. He can move and groove in his booster seat like you wouldn’t believe. He usually does his best work when nobody’s looking (yay for kid-rearview-mirrors!) but today after school, I was able to capture a...
Read MoreMorning and Afternoon Cuteness!
Aren’t these kids adorable? We already know this, of course, but more photos are never unwelcome, right? 🙂 Kendall was the cat’s pajamas this morning in her, ah, cat pajamas, holding onto her little big cats. (English teachers, forgive me that awkward sentence!) After school, Brian was just glowing in the afternoon sun, rocking out to some Cheap Trick, wearing his cool t-shirt with a quote from their song “Surrender“. (Yes, the shirt is quite hipster-ironic and...
