Sunday Canes Game and Free T-Shirt
Any day you can go to a hockey game it’s a good day, but the result may not have been exactly as we would have liked. Even though the Carolina Hurricanes put up 45 shots (about 50% more than average) and the San Jose Sharks only had 19 shots on goal (about 33% less than average), the ‘Canes were shut-out in a 2-0 loss at home. On a positive note, a gentleman that sits near us got one of the free T-shirts from Stormy (the Ice Hog mascot). He had already caught a few in his time, and...

It’s my birthday, and Steve and Sue took us all out for dinner at Kanki, as has become our tradition. The kids were super happy to get paper umbrellas in their drinks, and were generally well-behaved, but kept us pretty busy nonetheless. Kendall really liked her soup this time. One of the other families at our table included one of our well-known helpers from the Lego Store, and Brandon had a good time chatting with him and getting the scoop on some Lego things from an...

Happy Father’s Day! Our first (and probably best) present for Brandon was to let him sleep in today. I bought him some time by keeping the kids busy making a pancake breakfast. They helped me decorate the pancakes with Hello Kitty stamps, using chocolate and strawberry syrup, and with Star Wars stencils, using powdered sugar and cocoa powder. We also made up a big batch of citrus water, using our new beverage dispenser. This doubled as a sort of science experiment for Brian, seeing...
Read MoreFriday Night Mexican
It’s very typical for us to go out for Mexican food on Friday nights. Tonight was a little different, instead of our usual haunts, we took the kids to the downtown El Rodeo near Red Hat Tower. It had been a long day for everyone, and the children were kind of wild–poor Brandon got the worst of the abuse! 🙂 But, they did well enough to get rewarded with some fried ice cream. Brandon definitely earned...
