Goddard School Day at Marbles!
This morning, the kids were being so silly, dancing and playing with their playsilks and the chaise lounge pillow. When Brian was wearing that pillow+scarf on his head, he (inexplicably and repeatedly) called it his “Taco Hat”. (edit: Kendall evidently remembers that, since she put the pillow on her head and called it “Taco Hat” today–January 2, 2015!! The girl remembers ev-ar-y-thing.) We decided to take the kids to Marbles today since it was Goddard School...

Today we were surprised to receive an unexpected FedEx package. Turns out it was from Lego, for me! They had sent me a bouquet of flowers made by one of their Master Builders, as a thanks for “being an awesome mom!” I think maybe it’s because I reviewed something on their website? Or perhaps it’s because I’ve spent a really embarrassing amount of money on the plastic bricks we all love so much? It’s clear that we’re Lego superfans, just from all...

Today, Brian did some more work refining the shadow box/frame he started creating the last time we were at Marbles. He made it with a minimum of help from Brandon, and it is his own design! He made some pretty intricate train track layouts today as well. Kendall really lifted my spirits, giving me these gigantic running...

Weekday birthday party time! This time up, it’s Ladd. Ladd is probably Brian’s best friend from Mrs. Boswell’s Kindergarten class. This was a sports-themed party in Ladd’s backyard. The kids played soccer, had cake, and got a bunch of party favors! This all reminded me that we were down to a month before Brian’s seventh birthday party, and we were still not completely ready. His planned theme is also a discontinued entertainment property, so finding...

I’ve come to really look forward to my Tuesday afternoons with Kendall! While Brian is at skating lessons, Kendall and I have some girl time. She’s so cute, every time I pick her up, she asks, “Do we have Mommy’s car?” She cheers when I say that we do. Then, on the ride home, she asks if we can do all of the things we’ve done on previous afternoons together. “Can we play with Baby Jenna?” “Can we ride bikes?” “Can we have...
