Jedi Engineering
Brian started a new Tuesday-afternoon activity today–his Jedi Engineering with Lego course! He appeared to be having a great time when I picked him up from the library–pretty sure he didn’t want to leave! I hope he learns some good early engineering skills, but more importantly, has a lot of fun! One of his classmates is also in his Jedi Engineering course, so I hope they can become good friends....

Today we started building this year’s Winter Village addition, the new Lego Winter Market! Brian was so happy to get into a new set! He made a lot of his own creations with the parts, while Brandon and I ended up doing the bulk of the assembly. 😉 Once we had to reclaim the bulk of his parts, Brian moved onto other toys, and Kendall with him. They played cooking and restaurant with the toy food for quite awhile! Brian and Kendall played with Duplos as well, making tall houses and...

Brandon surprised us today with a gift for the family! He used his birthday money to splurge on this awesome Lego Haunted House. He brought it upstairs wrapped in a blanket, and Brian was very hammy, looking inside with his whole body–“I can’t see anything!” Here’s a video from Lego explaining how awesome it is, they can give you a better tour than we can: Also, here are some pics of Kendall, making me plates with her shape-sorting food, and reading her Thomas...

It was a special night for Brian, with his skating lessons rescheduled for after school today, followed by a hockey night with Daddy! I picked up some Halloween craft supplies on the way home from work, and had a girls’ night with Kendall. I hung up some felt banners to surprise Brian, and Kendall thought I was pretty silly, climbing up to hang them on the blinds. Also: Kendall’s class made a handprint tree in fall colors, so cute! And, some pics of the kids playing Legos...

Today we were happy to unveil a project we’d been working on for Brian–this Lego table! I’d had this crazy idea, wouldn’t be cool if, we could make an interchangeable tabletop for the train table, that was entirely covered in Lego baseplates. Brandon took that idea and ran with it, discovering that standard whiteboards are the exact same size as the train table top, and figuring out exactly how many baseplates it would take. We collaborated with Brian to come up with...
