Reading Class
This morning, Brian had another reading class at NC State! He’s really doing quite well with his reading. I’m sure he’ll be in a great spot to start first grade. Today, during the break, he made a fold-up book for Kendall, all about teaching her about colors. What a thoughtful big brother! Back at home, we played with toys, and started building two new Star Wars models, the Clone Wars-era Jedi Starfighters belonging to Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Brian has some amount of...
Read MoreViking Helmets, Hockey Camp roundup!
Today was Brian’s last day at Hockey Camp (well, hockey week at the Cool Ventures camp at the IcePlex!) He received a cool hockey medal that he was very proud of. 🙂 Not to be outdone, Kendall wore the pirate eye patch he brought home in a prize bag. Both kids were excited by the arrival of a pair of plastic viking helmets! I’d ordered these to go with Brian’s Halloween costume, but didn’t know what style or size they’d really be, or if they’d be...

Brian is having a good time at his Cool Ventures hockey camp this week! (Despite the drama of the van getting broken into…) I think this one is probably the most playtime-filled camp he’s been to so far, but maybe it’s good for him to have a week where he can just take it easy, play hockey, watch movies, do easy crafts, and play video games with the other kids. Also included, photos of Kendall celebrating as she receives some additional water-squirting dragon friends for...
Read MoreSharing an umbrella (and a helmet!)
Brian and Kendall were cute today–Kendall wearing Brian’s hockey helmet, both in the car, and after we got home! She is probably going to want one of her own one day. The kids love these pictures of them walking together under the tiger umbrella that Brian got at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, outside the IcePlex after Brian’s first day at Cool Ventures camp. Brandon took a photo of our cars being buddies in the parking deck at...
Read MoreGoddard School Day at Marbles!
This morning, the kids were being so silly, dancing and playing with their playsilks and the chaise lounge pillow. When Brian was wearing that pillow+scarf on his head, he (inexplicably and repeatedly) called it his “Taco Hat”. (edit: Kendall evidently remembers that, since she put the pillow on her head and called it “Taco Hat” today–January 2, 2015!! The girl remembers ev-ar-y-thing.) We decided to take the kids to Marbles today since it was Goddard School...
