Sunday Soccer
We’re all so grateful for some decent weather, we decided to play outside this afternoon! Brandon and Brian played soccer while Kendall and I played in the sandbox. We added some smooth river rocks to the sandbox, and Kendall had a good time cooking with those.. She was pretending all the pinkish rocks were strawberries. I asked her if the white ones were coconut, and she very seriously told me “nooooo!” Later, Kendall wanted to get into the soccer game, and she had fun,...

It’s my birthday today, and while I hope to have a relaxing one at some point in the (probably distant) future.. Today I happily signed on for a crazybusy one, full of family fun at the NC State Fair! We’ve learned over the years that in order to avoid the worst of the crowds, it’s best to show up close to opening time, around 8am, on Sunday morning. This year, bringing two mobile children to a packed and noisy convention center presented a new set of challenges. All in all, though, we had a great time. We sampled foods from Nepal, Thailand, Japan, Poland, France, India, Vietnam, probably more. 🙂 We watched many different performances, and the...

Today, we found ourselves invited to three different parties! Oh, these children and their social lives. 😉 We didn’t want them to miss out on anything, so, we decided to do split duty. Brandon took Brian to Nolan’s party in the morning, and Hayes’s party in the afternoon. I took Kendall to the Goddard block party which was in between the other two. Nolan’s party was at Three Bears Acres, and Brian had a blast trying out all the outdoor activities. The big slide...
