Colorado Trip! Day 1
After an extra-long day getting here, we made it to our first full day in Colorado! Our “altitude adjustment day” consisted of a few small trips in and around Colorado Springs. We spent a lot of time in Grandpa Roger and Grandma Cheryl’s big back yard. Some time was seeing the chickens, some time was spent playing games (typically Uno), and some time eating! Inside, we spent time solving puzzles and playing with cats. Our first outing was to the Starsmore Visitor and Nature...

Whew! Today was a long one. It started off with a Lowes Build and Grow for Brian, where he made a sweet Avenjet (the Avengers’ jet) with Iron Man. Later, we were off to the airport to start our trip to Colorado! The kids were super pumped up, and the free goodie bags the Fast Park & Ride folks gave them made it that much more exciting. We made it to our gate and then… Waited. And waited. And waited some more. Some genius managed to spill fuel all around outside of the...

It’s a short week, since Monday was the last day of school, and we’re heading to Colorado soon! Brian’s summer camp for this week was cancelled last minute due to lack of enrollment, so we’re improvising. Brian spent the day with Grandma Sue and went out to a fancy lunch. He liked the fish tank! Nana Rosemary gave the kids some Hello Kitty candy in cute red tins that look like Chinese takeout boxes. Kendall sorted out the colors with her candy. Brian borrowed a...

Today was Brian’s last day of first grade! The class celebrated with a pajama party, and the kids got to go to school in their PJs and bring a stuffed animal friend. Brian took Jason the Alligator, the softest reptile you’ll ever meet, a gift from Grandpa Steve before Brian was even born. 🙂 After school, we asked Brian where he’d like to go for dinner to celebrate, and he picked Chick-Fil-A. We had a fun dinner, and Kendall got to play in the playspace for a bit (Brian...
Read MoreLego Creationary
Today we enjoyed playing Lego Creationary. It’s a game where you draw cards, and have to build something that approximates what’s on your card. The other players have to guess what it is. Some of those cards are really challenging! Kendall played with the power tool/take-apart toys a lot today, and she got a new My Little Pony book about the wedding of Princess Cadance and Shining Armor. It came with a beaded bracelet to commemorate the momentous occasion. 😉 Kendall was quite...
