Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day! I had a nice one with my favorite people. They surprised me with a nice brunch at Fleming’s, and we had a great time, even if our kids’ active personalities aren’t exactly a fit for that sort of place. 😉 We decided that next time, we’ll make our reservation for after noon so we can order mimosas. That should help, right? 😉 Afterward, we went over to Laurel Hills and took a little nature walk by the pond and through the woods. Brian...

Today, Brandon and the kids let me sleep in! They headed out early to go to Lowe’s Build and Grow, where Brian and Kendall worked together to build a cute flower delivery van! They also bought me a lovely lily plant. It looks like they had a great time building together! When they came home, I was presented with beautiful bouquet of flowers, a fancy coffee from Caribou, and a huge spread of Bruegger’s bagels and sandwiches! Wow, all this, and it’s not even mother’s...

Both of the kids’ schools had events to celebrate Mother’s Day today! I’m not always able to make it to daytime events, but this year, I was able to! Brian’s class invited us moms to come by in the morning to receive our special gifts–a clay pendant, and a beautiful artwork of flowers in a vase! Brian’s teacher said these were suitable for framing, and I think I will absolutely have to do that. Brian’s picture shows such amazing detail, I can tell...

Clearly having lost our minds, today we took the kids to Krispy Kreme! Probably the last thing they need is sugar, but Brian had been begging for doughnuts for days on end and I guess it wore us down! Clearly, they were very excited to be there! They loved getting those paper...

Today was a pretty wacky day for a Tuesday–we started out taking the kids to the dentist. (No cavities–yay!) Afterward, we took Kendall to school, and we let Brian accompany us to vote before dropping him off at school. We think it’s important to show him examples of us doing our civil duty! Brian talked his way into getting an “I Voted” sticker–hopefully he’ll be as enthusiastic when he’s eighteen! After work, Steve and Sue watched the kids...
Read MoreBrian’s Republic Gunship
Today we didn’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo in any sort of traditional way–instead, we kept the Star Wars fun going and let Brian start building his Republic Gunship! We were surprised to find that it came with nine bags of parts and two instruction books–this is going to be a whopper of a build! Not to be outdone, Kendall decided to put on Brian’s play hockey gear and run circles around Brian’s building area....
