Legos and Building, Salad and Grilling
It was another super busy Satuday! This morning Brian had Lego Club, with a Lego Movie theme–awesome! He made some funny minifigures while he and Brandon were there, too. 🙂 Next, the boys were off to Lowe’s Build and Grow, where he made a cool claw game. The claw doesn’t actually grab, like in the real ones, but it does work like a hook to pick up things! I stayed home with Kendall, who entertained me while I got ready for the day (who knew a basket of rocks could be so...
Read MoreValentine Party, Rescheduled
Today was Brian’s classroom Valentine party, rescheduled due to the snow last week. I’d signed up to volunteer and read a book, way back in August–very glad I had lots of reminders! I asked Brian which Valentine book he wanted me to bring, and he couldn’t decide between his Curious George and Splat the Cat Valentine books, so, I brought both. 🙂 I think it worked out well for me to read both, it gave the other moms plenty of time to get snacks prepared and such!...
Read MoreLego Movie, again!
We went to see the Lego Movie again! This time we brought Kendall along as well for a matinee showing. It was just as good the second time, and Kendall seemed to really get into it! Also included, silly Brian with fried-egg eyes, some of Brian’s valentine cards that he made us, Kendall actually eating some spinach (!) at Noodle & Company, a paper-and-glue plane that Brian and I made, and the kids riding plasma cars in the garage. Brian’s sounded-out spellings can be tricky...
Read MoreSo over the snow…
Okay, we are all completely, totally, and utterly over the snow. I’m hoping we’re done with it for the year. Today we mostly spent the day at home, just playing with the kids. Kendall reclaimed Chili Bean for herself today–she really likes him! I tried giving her pigtails–she’s so cute with them! Not easy to do with a wiggly little girl, but it just looks so typically two years old. 🙂 We braved leaving the house for dinner, mostly just out of...
Read MoreSnowy Valentines
Today was Valentine’s Day, and YET ANOTHER SNOW DAY. I gotta say, I’m pretty much over snow days–after a little while trying to work and making it through a couple video conferences, I just called it a day and played with the kids. Luckily, I had purchased everyone’s Valentine’s presents well in advance, so being housebound due to the snow this week didn’t cause me any problems. They got some fun sweets-themed games, like a cookie-match game, and Kendall...
Read MoreYet Another Snow Day
The snow day train just keeps rolling! It’s nasty out there. This round of snow arrived so hard and fast, that everyone who waited to leave work until the snow actually started yesterday got stuck in traffic for hours. The resulting snarls backed up major roads for 5 hours or more, and emergency vehicles even had trouble getting to all the beached cars and accidents. Photos of the traffic jam and even a car fire on Glenwood Avenue (not that far from where we live!) even made the...
