Lego Club, and Hockey at Home
Today was the Lego City themed Lego Club meeting! Brian had a blast, of course–he loves Lego Club! We’re amassing quite the collection of Lego Club t-shirts..! Before heading to the game with Brandon, Brian wore all of his play goalie gear for some hockey action at home–he’s the king of exuberant embellishment!...

Brian is really, really into Connect Four right now. He plays it with his friends at Laurel Hills after school, and he is serious about it–he plays to win! We got the iPad app, but also had to run out and pick up our own set at Target. I am secretly glad that he seems to like the physical game the most. 🙂 I have taught him some of my tricksy moves, and he can stump Brandon pretty regularly now! We have to console him, telling him it’s just a game, not to take it personally..!...

Today was a teacher workday for Brian, and Brandon was on duty. The boys had an exciting day together, going to the Lego store for pick-a-brick, riding the R-Line in downtown Raleigh, visiting the Cupcake Shoppe, and they even joined me for lunch at Red Hat! Brian was very excited to get a sandwich made exactly the way he wanted, and we had a nice visit together. I had to get back to work, but the boys stayed and played games for a bit. Then, they were off to Marbles, where Brian got to do...

Today, Brian had the day off, due to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday, but the rest of us didn’t! I stayed home with him and tried to work at the same time, with varying degrees of success. 😉 Brian stayed busy, setting up shop and playing store for quite awhile, making some Play-Doh creations, and my favorite project–painting and building these wooden cars. It took a lot of patience, to paint each piece, wait for it to dry, glue things together in the right order..!...

Whew! Today was a busy one. This morning, Brian had swimming lessons, and I stayed home with Kendall. We did some drawing with her markers, and then she started connecting them, to see how far she could go. She pretended to be Darth Maul a bit, and was very proud of herself as her marker-saber got bigger and bigger! Then she started biting on the marker caps, which was not okay with me–knowing she was being naughty evidently just made it funnier to her! Soon, it was time to go to...

Brian surprised me this morning by creating a condensation comic in our bathroom–one panel for each year of his life, from baby, through preschool, all the way up to age 7 and first grade (looking ahead, I guess!) I think the reasoning here was to explain to Kendall how he is much older, etc., but he seemed to really enjoy talking his way through each age and grade he’s had so far. Tonight Kendall piled up all of her friends from the foot of the bed, to the head of the bed, and...
