Assembling Avengers
This summer at Lowes Build and Grow, there are six Avengers-related projects in a row. The patches are wedge-shaped and will come together to make a big circle, so Brandon has made super-sure to get Brian a spot in each session, so he doesn’t miss out (or end up with an incomplete set of patches–the horror!) 😉 Today he built a Thor and his Chariot, pretty cool! Brian doesn’t really know much about the Avengers yet, but we think he will get into them at some point, and...

Kendall had a splash day today, and debuted her new My Little Pony tankini. Cute! This morning, Brian had “meet the teacher” over at Root, where we got to see his new second grade class. His teacher, Mrs. Steer, seems very nice, and his classroom is just overflowing with books! It looks like they will never run out of things to read. 🙂 We picked up his Root t-shirt for the year (they’re doing just one shirt, instead of four different ones for all the school events..!)...
Read MoreNashville Trip!
For the past week, I’ve been in Nashville, attending a SANS information security training class. The class ran for a full seven days, from 9am until 7pm each day. We did get a lunch break and snacks in there, so it wasn’t inhumane or anything. 🙂 I don’t often travel alone, and I haven’t been away for this long before, but I think we all did pretty well with it. I sent photos to the kids of my planes, lunches, and selfies each morning. Brandon kept me up to date...

This week, Brian was back at the IcePlex for Cool Ventures camp. It was hockey week, of course, but when the kids aren’t on the ice, they get to take it really easy and just chill out, playing video games, watching movies, and playing Legos. This is probably the least-educational camp that Brian does, but it’s the last week before school starts, so we think it’s fine for him to have a really easy week before the summer’s over....

Whew, what a week it’s been.. Last Sunday, Brian had his reading class, and things seemed mostly normal.. Until our fridge died. Ugh! Brandon and I missed some of our family dinner time as we went to Sears and quickly bought a new fridge before closing time. It was delivered on Wednesday, sometime after 11:30pm–yikes! Those guys gave new meaning to being behind schedule–they were supposed to show up at 4pm. The kids were disappointed they didn’t get to see it...
