Swimming, Party, and School on Saturday!
Today started early, with Brian’s swim lessons this morning! Kendall tagged along, and Brandon got some cute pictures of them sitting outside in the sun. Then, Brian was off to get a haircut while I hung out with Kendall. Later, Brian went to his friend Emily’s birthday party–he was happy to discover that that it was at Orange Leaf, one of our favorite frozen yogurt places nearby. He picked out this kind of weird-looking octopus birthday card for her, and while he was...

We often go out for Mexican food on Friday nights, and tonight was one of those nights! After Brian’s skating lesson, we all met up and headed over to La Rancherita for dinner. Brian’s order came with curly fries, and I think he had a record-breaker in there! He was so excited by that, as you can see. 😉 Kendall wasn’t too sure about it! We were all pretty excited by the new fresh-made guacamole, and I think the kids would have been happy with just a tub of that...

…the best thing in the world is to be greeted by two happy children! Today I made my conference debut, speaking at SplunkLive! Raleigh. I’ve been so busy over the past few weeks, with a major upgrade project among too many other things, and I wish I could have had a little more time to prepare for this..! I didn’t feel that great about my performance, there were some A/V glitches that sort of messed up the flow, and some slide issues that had to be fixed at the last...

We randomly decided to go to Chili’s for dinner tonight. Brian asked for it, and we couldn’t think of a good reason not to! I think he loves going there so much because of that picture menu, and getting to circle his choices with a crayon. It’s not official protocol or anything, but I suggested it to him once just to keep him busy for a few seconds. He just loves that autonomy! He always tells the server his own choices that he circled. Brian remembered his...

Today we did a bit of spring cleaning and organizing. I repacked some winter gear, after having realized a space bag had sprung a leak and gotten stuck in a drawer. In the process, pulled out a bunch of things I’d knitted years ago, most of which the kids had never seen. They seemed to like my gaudy creations quite a bit! Kendall really liked the Hello Kitty hat and a soft pink scarf, and Brian liked a colorful fair isle hat and a really crazy poncho. It was just warm enough to blow...

This morning, I had a haircut appointment, and Brandon had the kids. He couldn’t get an appointment at our usual Lowes for Build and Grow this weekend, and found himself heading to Knightdale. He thought Rosemary and Sytse might want to see the kids, and gave them a call. Of course they did, and luckily, they were available! Sytse helped Brian build his birdhouse, and Rosemary helped take care of Kendall. This afternoon, Brian had skating lessons, and I had Kendall. She...
