Treasure! And Another Birthday Party
Brian was so happy this morning–the Tooth Fairy had brought him some cool coins! He got an Eisenhower dollar and a Susan B. Anthony–we think it’s because the eagle is landing on the moon on the tails side, and the Tooth Fairy must know he’s into space, what with the rocket ship tooth pillow. 😉 He spent a lot of time just looking at his “treasure” in the morning sunlight. He decided to keep his coins in his new treasure box that he’d painted earlier....

Brian’s sixth birthday party was today, and what a day it was! Wow. We started off with a few small presents with breakfast, and let Brian open his cards. He got some Lego City minifigures, a Lego City lunchbox, and, we finally let him have the very controversial Star Wars nerf blasters he’d received for his 4th birthday (and totally forgotten about). 😉 We’re really not into guns or even anything gun-like, but we’ve had lots of chats about such things with him, and...

Tonight we made the trek out to Zebulon for my grandmother’s 90th birthday! We usually wouldn’t be able to go out there on a school night, but as it turns out, Brian has a teacher workday tomorrow, on his birthday, no less! 🙂 What a lucky boy. Anyway, we picked up the kids and went straight to Rosemary’s and had a quick barbecue dinner before going to Grandmother’s. When we arrived, Maurice, Gwen, and Randy were playing music and sounding great! Kendall was a...
Read MoreTIE Fighters and Ice Cream
Today, we finished putting together our TIE fighter (and TIE advanced!) model kits. Brian wants to have the set of ships from the famous trench scene from Star Wars hanging from his ceiling. This group of three will be a good start. 🙂 Kendall is working on using an open cup–she’s doing pretty well with it! Brian took pictures of posters he likes again–I’m sharing them here since they are just so “him”. This afternoon we went out for ice cream at Fresh....

Well, it’s the end of an era–today was Brian’s last day at Goddard School. How was his last day at Goddard after his first day of Kindergarten? It’s a quirk of the way Kindergarten assessments and assignments are done. Yesterday, he had a full day of assessments, today there’s no Kindergarten while the teachers crunch the numbers (Brandon and I like to imagine they have a draft.) 😉 Tomorrow, it’s back to Kindergarten where we will find out his official...

Kindergarten hasn’t started just yet, but today was the first day of Brian’s after school program at Laurel Hills! We thought it’d be good for him to get used to it, so we picked him up from Goddard School early today and brought him over. I hope he will have a good time there! When we got him at Goddard, they were having a bit of a goodbye party for Tyler B. It seems all the kids are bringing in a treat for their last day in class, I guess we will do the same! We went...
