Mother’s Day Fun
It’s Mother’s Day eve and we have a ton on tap today. We kicked things off with swim lessons for Kendall. Since Alison had a hair cut appointment, Kendall joined Brian and I at Lowe’s Build and Grow. Today’s build was the Mother’s Day Planter Clinic. Kendall was a great helper in building and in selecting appropriate flowers to add to the planter. While waiting for mom to get home, the kids made breakfast for mom in toy food form! After a mite house league game we...

Today there were Mother’s Day parties at both kids’ schools, so I stepped out from work twice to attend them. Brian’s class presented a really cute program, complete with poems and songs, and Brian delivered his lines beautifully. Brian gave me a set of lovely gifts that he’d made himself, and I really loved the picture + bio he made for me! My favorite bit was his answer to “The hardest part about being a mom would be”: “Wrcking at Red Hat all...

Kendall sure was a cutie this morning, playing with her blocks. Brian drew this cute little robot on the easel paper–so many colors for a little droid! Brandon went to check and see if Steve’s marker had been installed yet. It hadn’t, but, they have it onsite and it should be ready soon. He pretty much insisted that Brandon come take a look at it, since it was out sitting on some sawhorses. 🙂 I spied a pretty amazing piece of artwork on the couch today–but it...

I was home with Kendall today, since Goddard had a teacher workday. We played at home, doing puzzles, watching My Little Pony.. I tried to work some of the day, but we did sneak out at lunchtime to go to the mall. I surprised Kendall with a trip to Build A Bear, to make a Princess Luna to go along with her Princess Celestia (they’re sisters, after all!) Afterward, we got a smoothie, which clearly Kendall enjoyed quite a bit!...
Read MoreCardinal in the Maple Tree
And now for something completely random.. 😉 Just some photos of a cardinal in our maple tree, who really had it in for those red “helicopters”. I’m not sure if he was eating the seeds or just jealous of that much red on his tree, but he was fun to watch....

Today Brandon and I celebrated our anniversary by getting lunch together! It was quite cold, so soup seemed a good choice. Brandon got the hot pot, and I got the ramen. We even enjoyed an adult beverage. 😉 Our server surprised us with free dessert–it was the restaurant’s anniversary, too, and that was their way of celebrating. Lucky! This evening, Kendall got her pony castle that she’d been earning stickers for, and she was just over-the-moon excited! I helped her put...
