Kendall’s 3rd Birthday!
Today is Kendall’s third birthday! We had her party at home, and decorated the house up with Flower Fairies-themed decorations. Her famous Buttercup Fairy costume from Halloween is one of the Mary Cicely Barker creations that I liked so much when I was a little girl. I’m so glad Kendall likes them, too! Today we had an opportunity to be in the Raleigh Christmas parade, riding on the Goddard School float! It was a cold one, and we bundled up as best we could, wearing lots of layers. We were towards the back of the parade, and during the lineup we were directly in front of Santa Claus. The kids got to meet him, which was a pretty special treat. Any day you can go to a hockey game it’s a good day, but the result may not have been exactly as we would have liked. Even though the Carolina Hurricanes put up 45 shots (about 50% more than average) and the San Jose Sharks only had 19 shots on goal (about 33% less than average), the ‘Canes were shut-out in a 2-0 loss at home. It’s my birthday, and Steve and Sue took us all out for dinner at Kanki, as has become our tradition. The NC State Fair!
Today we were off to the State Fair! This year we went on Brandon’s birthday, like we went on my birthday last year. As we usually do, we met up with the Orazi family early, and went to get biscuits for breakfast. The fair is usually not so crowded early in the morning, but this year, we could tell it was going to be a record-breaker–it was pretty crowded to start with!
