Skate With The ‘Canes!
The 16th annual Skate with the Canes fundraiser was held tonight. It was a sell-out and this year’s event raised just under $40,000 for the Kids ‘N Community Foundation. Brian and I were attending this charitable event for the first time! Brian’s skating chops have improved to the point where I figured he could hold his own on the PNC Arena ice. This event is not being held long after Brian was cleared to skate by his Orthopaedist at Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic (coincidentally the...

Today we were off to the Renaissance Faire with the Orazis! It’s a bit of a drive to get out there, about three hours–but it’s worth it! When we arrived, everyone was feeling a little hungry, so we powered off to the furthest end of the park for some lunch. Brandon was feeling like bratwurst, and to our surprise, Kendall seemed to like it, too! Even with the sauerkraut and spicy mustard. After lunch, we took in some shows, including some fire-eating “pirates”...

It’s Halloween! The big night is here! But, first things first–we still had to go to work and school today. It was a pretty regular day for the kids, although I did dress them up in festive gear. 🙂 They had an impromptu game of balloon keep-away before school. The company puts on...

Today I happily signed on for a crazybusy one, full of family fun at the NC State Fair! We’ve learned over the years that in order to avoid the worst of the crowds, it’s best to show up close to opening time, around 8am, on Sunday morning. Yes, it’s a little painful to get everyone up and out that early, but the fairgrounds seem fresh and beautiful at that...

Brandon surprised us today with a gift for the family! He used his birthday money to splurge on this awesome Lego Haunted House. He brought it upstairs wrapped in a blanket, and Brian was very hammy, looking inside with his whole body–“I can’t see anything!” Here’s a video from Lego explaining how awesome it is, they can give you a better tour than we can: Also, here are some pics of Kendall, making me plates with her shape-sorting food, and reading her Thomas...
