Goddard School Day at Marbles!
This morning, the kids were being so silly, dancing and playing with their playsilks and the chaise lounge pillow. When Brian was wearing that pillow+scarf on his head, he (inexplicably and repeatedly) called it his “Taco Hat”. (edit: Kendall evidently remembers that, since she put the pillow on her head and called it “Taco Hat” today–January 2, 2015!! The girl remembers ev-ar-y-thing.) We decided to take the kids to Marbles today since it was Goddard School...

We’re on vacation this week, and before we head to the beach, we’ve got a few days to fill. Today we took the kids out to Marbles! There’s a new energy exhibit they both enjoyed, and Kendall loved wearing the hot pink hard hat while learning about power grids and distribution. 😉 The kids enjoyed lots of their favorite activities, like the giant Legos, basketball, and Brian really got into the construction activity. He started making a wood frame with the hand tools they...

Woo! Vacation week. Brian doesn’t have camp this week, Brandon and I have the week off, and we’re heading to the beach for July 4th. But, Kendall still had school today, and we knew she wouldn’t want to miss the Kinder Kixx soccer event! So we decided to do something special with Brian, and took him to the IMAX theater at Marbles to see the Island of Lemurs movie. I’d been wanting to see this one for awhile, so I was really glad to go. Brian doesn’t like 3D...

The boys had an exciting day together, going to the Lego store for pick-a-brick, riding the R-Line in downtown Raleigh, visiting the Cupcake Shoppe, and they even joined me for lunch at Red Hat! Brian was very excited to get a sandwich made exactly the way he wanted, and we had a nice visit together. I had to get back to work, but the boys stayed and played games for a bit. Then, they were off to Marbles, where Brian got to do...

Whew! Today was a busy one. This morning, Brian had swimming lessons, and I stayed home with Kendall. We did some drawing with her markers, and then she started connecting them, to see how far she could go. She pretended to be Darth Maul a bit, and was very proud of herself as her marker-saber got bigger and bigger! Then she started biting on the marker caps, which was not okay with me–knowing she was being naughty evidently just made it funnier to her! Soon, it was time to go to...
