Brian’s First School Musical: Seussical!
Tonight was Brian’s first musical performance at school! The kindergarten and first grade students presented Seussical the Musical (program, PDF) this evening! Brian had been practicing the songs for months, with us hearing him singing in the bathroom, the bathtub, while he was getting dressed.. If we asked, he would laugh and say “nothing!” He wanted it all to be a surprise. The kids did an amazing job with their performance, remembering so many songs, and the moves to...

Okay, we are all completely, totally, and utterly over the snow. I’m hoping we’re done with it for the year. Today we mostly spent the day at home, just playing with the kids. Kendall reclaimed Chili Bean for herself today–she really likes him! I tried giving her pigtails–she’s so cute with them! Not easy to do with a wiggly little girl, but it just looks so typically two years old. 🙂 We braved leaving the house for dinner, mostly just out of...

Today was Valentine’s Day, and YET ANOTHER SNOW DAY. I gotta say, I’m pretty much over snow days–after a little while trying to work and making it through a couple video conferences, I just called it a day and played with the kids. They got some fun sweets-themed games, like a cookie-match game, and Kendall...

Tonight was the Hurricanes Kids’ Club party at PNC Arena! This was a pretty special event for Brian. We got to tour all around some of the behind-the-scenes areas at the stadium, including the locker room. Brian won an autographed puck in the raffle, and he collected autographs from some of his favorite players, and Stormy. But most importantly, he got to skate on the very ice where the ‘Canes play. This was a pretty big deal for him! Kendall and I watched from the stands,...

Have you ever had days that just ran together in one big blur? That’s this week for me. Not only did we have a (fairly pointless) snow day on Tuesday, and another (totally legit) one on Wednesday, we ended up with two more–yes, 4 out of 5 days this week, we were all stuck at home. Brandon and I have some flexibility in our jobs, but we did have to work from home during this time, so we managed it by trading kid-watching shifts every few hours. The kids were as good as one could...
