Air Show!
Today the whole family packed-up for a trip to the Wings Over Wayne air show in Goldsboro. It is held at Seymour Johnson AFB in alternating years with the MCAS Cherry Point air show in Havelock. Brian is still definitely into planes, and I think Kendall is starting to get into it as well. She was a real trooper getting over her rash post-antibiotics. Getting to the flight-line wasn’t bad with the shuttle-bus. But, after the Thunderbirds performed, there was such a rush to leave that it...

It’s Star Wars Day with the Durham Bulls, so of course we had to be there! This year’s jerseys were C-3PO themed (I have to admit, I liked the R2-D2 ones from last year a lot more.) We all wore our own Star Wars t-shirts to celebrate. The game was pretty fun, but I think the kids were more excited about the sno-cones and Star Wars gimmicks....

It’s Mother’s Day eve and we have a ton on tap today. We kicked things off with swim lessons for Kendall. Since Alison had a hair cut appointment, Kendall joined Brian and I at Lowe’s Build and Grow. Today’s build was the Mother’s Day Planter Clinic. Kendall was a great helper in building and in selecting appropriate flowers to add to the planter. While waiting for mom to get home, the kids made breakfast for mom in toy food form! After a mite house league game we...

Today there were Mother’s Day parties at both kids’ schools, so I stepped out from work twice to attend them. Brian’s class presented a really cute program, complete with poems and songs, and Brian delivered his lines beautifully. Brian gave me a set of lovely gifts that he’d made himself, and I really loved the picture + bio he made for me! My favorite bit was his answer to “The hardest part about being a mom would be”: “Wrcking at Red Hat all...

May the Fourth be with you! It’s Star Wars day, so Brandon and I picked up the special prize at the Lego store for the kids, and got them these fun paper rebel helmets, which they got to decorate with stickers. Pretty cool! It was also Kendall’s art show, so we made sure to check out all of her artwork on display at her school. Nice work, Kendall! I liked all of her artwork, but I think she was most proud of this red caterpillar she had painted. We stopped by the cemetary on...
