The KinderGarden Groundbreaking
Today was a special day at Brian’s school! The official groundbreaking ceremony of the new KinderGarden, a new five-senses garden that will be planted outside the Kindergarten/First Grade wing at Root Elementary. The students performed a cute poem called “A Little Brown Seed” and also sang “What A Wonderful World.” Brian had been practicing it all week! Today was the Spring Book Fair at Root, and of course, we couldn’t miss that! Brian had a list of books he wanted, and found a lot more! Kendall found a pile she wanted as well. We tried to be selective, but we still ended up with a heavy load. Some notable purchases were Lego box sets for each kid, with 3 books and a mini set in each, and a pack of the first 12 Magic Treehouse books. We started off our Saturday with a Lego Club meeting where the theme was Spider-Man. We aren’t all that up-to-date on the happenings in the Marvel universe, and we’d never even heard of Electro, the villian featured on this week’s t-shirt. The long-awaited Boosterthon is here!! I volunteered and helped at the water station (along with about eight other moms)! There were so many parents in attendance, that there were an overabundance of us water folks, lap counters, and high-fivers! Brandon and Kendall were in attendance as well.
