Sat Build, Sun Pullen/Reading/Marbles
Welcome to a weekend edition post! On Saturday, Brian started out by going to the Lowe’s Build and Grow Hawkeye’s Quinjet Clinic. Hawkeye is a character from Marvel’s Avengers and Avengers Assemble. On Sunday, Alison spent a well-deserved afternoon at the day spa! While she was there, Brian was at his North Carolina State University 2015 Reading Skills Program for Entering 2nd Graders. As I had been feeling guilty about taking Brian on a few trips to Pullen Park by himself...

At Lego Club this morning, Brian made a fun habitat for a blue whale! He was able to answer some trivia questions, too, thanks to the IMAX movie he’d just seen at Marbles camp that about whales. This afternoon, Kendall started working on her Mermaid excavation kit. Can’t wait to see what it looks like, once she gets it free of the blue plaster brick it came in! The resulting dust sure is making a mess of the...
Read MorePluto! Etch-A-Sketch! Sailor Moon!
This week was pretty special! We were all excited as the New Horizons craft finally made it to Pluto, and we got to see everyone’s favorite dwarf planet in beautiful detail for the first time. We’d been talking to Brian about it for years, and we were so happy that everything went well with the mission. I got the kids an Etch-A-Sketch this week, I figure it’s one of those classic things that every kid needs. It seems flimsier than the ones we had back in the day, but it...
