New Year’s Eve!
This morning, Grandpa Roger headed home–we hope he enjoyed his visit as much as we enjoyed having him! 🙂 We took it somewhat easy today, and played at home some, and took the kids over to Root to ride their plasma cars around the track. This was a super fun, yet exceedingly noisy, activity for them! We let them get out as much energy as they could there. Back at home, we worked on some Lego projects with Brian while Kendall was sleeping. He was super excited to build his Lego Coast...

Today we continued the museum visiting and hit up Marbles! Before that, though, the kids spent the morning playing with more of their new toys.. They put together the giant hockey floor puzzle, and Brian did some wacky dancing, pretending he was the alien riding in the spaceship on his pajamas. We did eventually manage to get everyone ready and out the door, and we had quite the time at Marbles. The kids both loved the hockey, oversized Connect Four, and giant building blocks, and Kendall...

The boys picked up some Krispy Kreme last night after the hockey game, so we enjoyed a super-sugary breakfast today! Kendall was a fan. 😉 We figured we should attempt another educational outing today, so we packed everyone up and went to the Natural History museum downtown. The kids had a blast, visiting a lot of their favorite spots and sharing them with Grandpa Roger, but they were so wild! Maybe it was the doughnut breakfast, or maybe just vacation stir-craziness, but it was an...

Okay, we had to do it–we just couldn’t go another day without Kendall getting her own Plasma Car! We were quickly reaching global thermonuclear war level of conflict between the kids over Brian’s car, so.. We started making some calls to see who had any left after the Christmas rush. We found that there was a purple and red model out at Brier Creek, and that sounded just about perfect for Kendall. So, we made the trek out there, after a somewhat lazy morning playing...

We felt like getting out today, so packed everyone up and headed to Durham’s Life+Science Museum. Kendall and Brian used the new Hello Kitty carseat blankets I made last night! The kids are pretty familiar with the museum at this point, and they had a great time showing Grandpa all of their favorite exhibits. The museum changes things up pretty regularly, so there were some new surprises in addition to some favorites. Brian still loves the boats, and Kendall still loves the...

Grandpa Roger arrived late last night, after the kids were already in bed, so the kids were excited to wake up this morning to see him! We all made good use of the new coffeemaker, with Brandon telling Roger our tale of woe about the old one. Roger volunteered to take a look at the old one, and within minutes, had it going again! Turns out, it just needed a bit of descaling. Cool! Now we can use the little one when we travel, like we did originally. The kids had a great time showing...
